Yoga for Pregnancy Class
Class Information
Our weekly 1 hour 45 minute classes are held on an ongoing basis consisting of gentle stretches, breathing and relaxation exercises followed by refreshments and time to talk to other pregnant women. From time to time outside speakers may visit the class during this very important social time. Classes are held on a Thursday evening (7:45pm to 9:30pm) in Twyford.
Due to the gentle nature of the Yoga for Pregnancy class, women are free to attend from 16 weeks of pregnancy and to continue until their baby is due. However, if you have experienced any difficulties during your pregnancy it is advisable to consult with your doctor/midwife before commencing any form of exercise.
Each class consists of the following:-
Body Awareness : The more you listen to your body now, the more you can be in tune with yourself during birth. Many of the gentle movements practiced will help alleviate some of the common complaints of pregnancy, such as back ache.
Breathing : Breathing is linked to emotions, the calmer the breathing, the calmer your mind and this helps you to surrender to the birth process.
Relaxation : Relaxation can help to alleviate stress leaving one feeling refreshed, relaxed, calm, positive and clear headed. The reassuring thing is that like body awareness and breathing, relaxation can be learned.
Cost
Our classes run on a termly basis and cost £9.00 per weekly session. There is no need to book in advance so why not drop in one week and see how you get on?

Advice before coming to a class
It is best to wear loose comfortable clothing. You are advised not to eat a heavy meal prior to a class. Many women like to arrive ten minutes before the start of a class allowing them time to settle and some women like to bring a drink to sip during class.
Please bring a pillow/cushion and a blanket. If you have one available, you might also wish to bring an exercise mat.
